Orlando FC 2010/2011 Open Tryouts

Lake Sylvan Park, Field E - M/W May 24/26 (U13) and T/Th May 25/27 (U16,17,18)

Orlando FC open tryout sessions will be conducted by the Club Director and QPR Academy Coach, David Bardsley. Attendence at both sessions is expected. Players will be participating in a typical training session with the same intensity and work rate as would be expected for game play. Please come prepared to be tested - and to play hard.

Please be sure to bring water for hydration. Soccer cleats and shin guards will be required to participate.

There are no fees associated with trying out for an Orlando FC team. If selected, players will be expected to commit to the team training schedule. Attendance at training is mandatory. Players who play for Orlando FC are not permitted to be dual registered or play for any other team or club. A deposit (typically half of the season coaching fee) will be due immediately if player selected. Balance of season coaching fee will typically be payable within 4-6 weeks.

Orlando FC Tryout Information

ORLANDO FC conducts open tryouts each year for our teams. Tryouts are usually held in late Spring or early Summer and, for our older teams, there is often an opportunity to tryout at other times by prior arrangement with the Head Coach or Club Director. It is highly recommended that new players wishing to try out for an ORLANDO FC team contact a member of the ORLANDO FC coaching staff prior to their first day of tryouts.

The mutual commitment between a player and the Club lasts for one year. At the conclusion of the season (usually Late May or early June, depending on the Florida State Cup finals competition status and the particular age group), open tryouts will be held. Selection to a team one year does not guarantee that player a place on the team the following year. Tryouts happen every year, and allow teams to replace players who are no longer playing or who have moved on. Tryouts also allow hard-working and ambitious players, not currently with the Club, who have improved their playing ability, to join stronger or more competitive teams in ORLANDO FC. Tryouts are successful if players and teams when every player finds a team that has a training and competion plan that fits the player’s interests and needs, with a budget and time commitment that matches the parent’s willingness to support the player.

The announcement of annual tryouts will be made via this website. The dates, time and venues as well as the number of tryouts will be determined by the Head Coach of each age group. The coaching staff will determine how the tryouts are conducted and the process for selecting the final roster. Of course, player selections are made without regard to race, religion, creed, color, national or ethnic origin.

We ask that you contact your current or previous coach and notify them of your intent to attend an ORLANDO FC tryout. In order to avoid compromising any player’s eligibility to play, we ask that you not seek to change clubs or teams when not otherwise permitted by the sport’s governing authority.
